Hello Gus

New puppy!

Say hello to the newest (and cutest) addition to our family, Gus! He's my cousin's pup, and incase you can't tell by the half up/half down ears, he's a french bulldog. He is absolutely tiny and so damn adorable. He doesn't get on very well with Pippi though. Although she's double his size, she's scared of him! And yes, he is wearing blue pyjamas with yellow patterned stars and moons and a peter pan collar on the back...

Wanderlust

On

Whitby, North Yorkshire

I’m currently in a bit of a wanderlust daze, and envying everyone who is travelling abroad. It happens pretty much every summer, I just want to get up, pack my bags and travel the world. Next year, a trip to Florida is on the cards and I couldn’t be more excited. And, in a matter of days, I’m heading up to Edinburgh for the fringe festival. It’s definitely not the sunny holiday I’m lusting after, but I’m so looking forward to it! We have a few comedians that we’ve booked to see and I’ll try to take as many photos as I can while I’m there.

I hope you enjoy these little “postcards” from Whitby, I’m considering posting my photos from my travels more frequently.

Itsy Bitsy Birthday Book Haul!

On
Tuesday, 16 December 2014

It's my birthday!

Last Friday, I turned the big two-oh! I didn't really ask for much, so receiving a bit of birthday money and the books above was a nice and unexpected surprise. I always find it interesting to see which books people will pick out for you. My aunty bought me Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham which I've had a little look at and I'm not sure it'll be my cuppa tea, but I appreciated it nonetheless. The Shock of the Fall and Where'd You Go Bernadette were both off David and I think he did a good job! Then again, as I'm writing this, I'm wondering if he just had a sneak peek at my Amazon wishlist...

I didn't really do an awful lot this year. I did have my family round, as always, which was good and very chill. I think a lot of people expected me to go out and get mortal but that sort of thing really doesn't appeal to me. I'd much rather stay home, watch TV, have a long, hot bath and read a good book.

Happy Halloween!

Warner Bro’s Studio Tour, Studio Tour Drive, Hertfordshire

Happy Halloween!

Around this time last year, I visited the Harry Potter Warner Bro’s Studio Tour for the first time. It was amazing, breath taking and of course magic. It was honestly so fascinating seeing how everything is made and produced from small little props or green screens to what you actually see on the screen. I have to admit, it was a ‘big spoiler’ but it was also just so incredible, I think I walked around pointing at everything with my mouth hanging open. I honestly can’t praise the Warner Bro’s Studio Tour enough, I’ve been back again since and both times have been just as magical. I very strongly recommend visiting if you ever get the chance, it is literally an experience you will never forget.

Into The Woods

Centre Parcs, Sherwood Forest

I've been living in a log cabin all week and I've loved it. In the week we've been here, I've:
  • went quad biking for the first time, (it was so good!)
  • visited Whipsnade Zoo and blogged about it
  • played badminton for the first time in years (I lost)
  • went shopping
  • made a Heisenberg cake for my boyfriend (it was his 20th birthday while we were there), including fake blue crystals
  • ate the Heisenberg cake
  • went on a boat ride
I was such a relaxing week and it's been great to get away with my family, even if it was just for a week.

I Went To The Zoo

Whipsnade Zoo, Dunstable

Quite a while back, I went to Centre Parcs with my family and for a day out we visited Whipsnade Zoo near London. We kind of underestimated how long it would take to drive there, but after a good solid few hours, we finally arrived.

I honestly didn't have high hopes, I only wanted to go to see my sister's face when she saw the elephants (she adores them), but I had an amazing day out and all the animal's were so cute. I surprised myself actually, I've never been that interested in zoo's and I honestly had a really good time.

My favourite by far was the elephants who were absolutely adorable and so smart! I never realised just how clever they are, but they performed in front of an audience and then went for a walk around the park. Plus, there was the little baby Max who was there (I believe there's now another baby elephant and Max is a big brother now?).

The lions were also incredible. I've never seen lions before and they were asleep when we first got there. They soon woke up - giving us all hope that they were up for good now - to move somewhere comfy... and fall straight back to sleep.

We also fed the bears, watched the sealion show (those are also some smart animals!), had a giraffe stick its tongue out at us, saw a rhino taking a bath, and came face to face with a kangaroo. Overall, it was a fantastic day out and it's safe to say I was exhausted by the end of it.

Meet Pippi

Welcome home, Pippi

Yesterday... we got a dog!! I honestly can't believe that I have my own dog now! Her name is Pippi, she is a cockapoo and the cutest little puppy in the world. Writing this blog post was hard because I just want to cuddle her all. the. time. She is so tiny and fluffy!

We'd talked about getting a dog for years but the idea of having our own was out of the question (dogs are expensive and looking after one is hard work!). However, we all made the promise that if we were to get our own, we would be the ones looking after her (and yes, that includes volunteering to pick up her poop).

Although I had no idea we were going to be getting her, I am honestly so excited to have her! She needs to get her injections, but as soon as she does I can't wait to get her out for walks. We've already given her a bath (hence the wet ears in some of the photos) and she's been quite shy and scared so far, but she was also like that with her brother's and sister's as well. I think she's probably going to be quite a cuddly dog as she hates being left alone, at least I hope she's a cuddly dog, I can't put her down!

Sister's Birthday Snippets

Sister's 11th birthday!

Yesterday we celebrated my youngest sister's 11th birthday with a small family get together. I honestly can't believe she is 11 already! We hired a bouncy castle and made (and ate) loads of cakes. I took quite a few photos of my sister and cousins but because my blog is my own little project, I'm not sure how people would feel about me posting their photos on the internet, and thus, I have only included the boring photos (sorry!). As you can tell, there was a lot of 1D going on. At least 3 cards had their faces plastered on them, Midnight Memories (woah, oh, oh, oh, oh) was on all night and you couldn't even escape them at the buffet table!

A Little Adventure

Rothbury, Northumberland

This week, my boyfriend and I have been out and about exploring Rothbury. I'd never been before, and I had no idea what it was like but it is one of the loveliest (and smallest) villages I've ever seen. There's not much to do here except go for little strolls around the countryside. There's a small town centre which has all the basic necessities but it's such a relaxing and quiet atmosphere compared to living in the hustle and bustle of the city. We also had dinner at an italian restaurant which had the most delicious pasta, ever.
